I am the Ratman
Hey there, I’m Mike!
I’ve spent the last 5–6 years in the firearms and tactical industry, over a decade as a hobbyist, and a lifetime of being a colorblind photographer.
Beyond photography, I’m an amateur horologist (watch enthusiast), driving enthusiast, and someone who appreciates unique marketing—like the B&T GHM9.
I value honesty and transparency in everything I do. If you have questions—whether you’re considering working with me or already have—don’t hesitate to reach out. I’ll always give you a straightforward answer.
P.S. Will work for watches 👀
What does Ratman carry?
It’s taken some trial & error, as well as Langdon working on HKs, to square away the foundation of my EDC, or everyday carry. Now, I’m shifting my focus more towards getting medical gear integrated. Until that’s been added, here’s what I’m currently carrying and relying on daily:
Name Origin
If you’re looking to be disappointed with a story about the name origin, you’ve come to the right place!
The story of “Ratman” comes from a family tradition of our last name being butchered. During my Dad’s time in the NAVY he was dubbed “Ratman”, I imagine so people could avoid saying his last name. As fate would have it, I’ve lived through the same struggles. So, naturally, I decided to exercise some piracy skills, and commandeered the nickname from him. Thus, Ratman was reborn… so I guess I’m Ratman Junior… technically?
My Other Photography
When I’m not taking product photos, I like to spend time hitting up hiking trails around Indiana, or if I get a chance to while on a work trip. It gives me a chance to relax and capture photos of what’s out there. It’ll always be a dream of mine to become a professional landscape & nature photographer.
While this is just a hobby and creative outlet for me, I’d appreciate it if you gave me a follow on Facebook or Instagram! Worst case scenario, you get to change your feed up a little 🙂
